Embedded Product Development

Embedded products, built end to end.

We design the electronics, write the firmware and build the app or dashboard that talks to it, so your product works as one system instead of three hand-offs.

Embedded Product Development at picoBytes

Most connected products fail at the seams: the board works, the app works, but the two don’t agree on what happens when Wi-Fi drops or a sensor misbehaves. We avoid that by owning the whole stack. The same team that picks the microcontroller also defines the API and builds the screens your customers use.

You can start with a rough idea or an existing prototype. We help you choose components that are available and affordable, plan for certification and manufacturing early, and deliver working builds at every stage so decisions are made on real hardware.

What’s included

What we do

Product architecture

Component selection, power budget, connectivity and a cost-per-unit estimate before any layout begins.

Hardware & PCB

Schematic, multi-layer layout, prototypes and manufacturing files, ready for your assembly partner.

Firmware

Reliable C/C++ firmware with bootloaders, over-the-air updates and power management.

Apps & dashboards

Android, iOS and web apps for setup, control and monitoring, plus admin panels for your team.

Cloud & connectivity

Device provisioning, MQTT or REST back ends, data storage and alerts.

Production support

Test jigs, factory flashing, documentation and help through your first production run.

How we work

From first call to launch

  1. Discover

We map the requirement, constraints and budget, and agree on what “done” looks like.

  2. Prototype

A proof-of-concept board, clickable design or first build that tests the riskiest parts early.

  3. Build

Development in short milestones with regular demos, on real hardware and real screens.

  4. Launch & support

Production handover, store or server deployment, and updates after release.

FAQ

Common questions

Can you start from my existing prototype?

Yes. We review the current design, keep what works and redesign what won’t scale, such as hand-wired modules, parts that are hard to source, or firmware without update support.

Do you handle manufacturing?

We prepare everything your manufacturer needs (Gerbers, BOM, pick-and-place files and test procedures) and can coordinate prototype and small production runs with fabrication and assembly services.

Who owns the design files and source code?

You do. On final payment you receive the schematics, layout files, firmware source and app source code.

How long does a typical product take?

It depends on complexity. We break the work into milestones with a working build at each one, and agree the schedule with you before we start.
